Research
Untangling people flow solutions involves rapid data exchange, global scalability via digital platforms, and transforming traditional industries through digital innovation and connectivity.
Digital Twins and IoT data flows
Digital Twins, created using IFC files, have been developed by People Flow partners for the University of Helsinki’s Kumpula campus and Helsinki Airport’s departure hall. These twins are enriched with IoT data, LiDAR point-cloud measurements, and analyses of working culture and business processes, providing a dynamic representation of real-world environments.

Recommendating Sustainability
The YLVA AI Menu Planner at Kumpula campus predicts occupancy, food waste, and CO2 emissions per plate every day. It uses advanced algorithms to analyse purchasing preferences and historical data, enabling management to plan menus six weeks ahead, boosting popular choices, increasing sales, and reducing food waste.

Monitoring and Evaluation Framework
At the Exactum, Kumpula campus, the Monitoring and Evaluation Framework uses Supersight People counting cameras and Megasense devices to track student flow and monitor air quality and noise. This aids the University of Helsinki in making informed facility management decisions, ensuring accountability, and optimizing resources

Demand Planning for Schools Meals
The People Flow tool helps City of Helsinki forecast school meal demand by analysing occupancy data and student choices. This optimizes inventory, streamlines supply chains, and cuts costs from overstocking and waste. Occupancy-based planning is crucial for better service, satisfaction, and strategic decisions
